Frequently Asked Questions
Do you travel?
Yes. My service area includes a 30 mile radius from Remington, Va. Distances exceeding 30 miles will be subject to a travel fee of 0.67 ¢/mile.
Do you require a booking fee?
For sessions booked more than 30 days in advance, I require a 30% non-refundable reservation fee that will be deducted from the total cost of service. Please note that payment must be received and the contract signed within 48 hours to reserve the date and time of your event. Services are provided on first come, first serve basis. Failure to pay or sign the contract within 48 hours may result in losing your desired date and time for your event.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! If you are looking to book a session more than 30 days in advance I ask if you'd prefer to pay in full or a payment plan to break up your payments into smaller, more affordable, amounts. If you are concerned about the pricing, please reach out to me directly so that we can find something that works for your budget. Final payment is due 7 days prior to your scheduled event.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
For rescheduling, the existing retainer carry over to rescheduled session if notice is given at least seven days prior to event. Rescheduled sessions must be within six months of the original date or a new contract will be sent.
For cancellations, payments received will not be refunded for individuals who fail to show or cancelation requests less than/equal to 7 days of the event.
What if I am late to our session?
Any client that arrives late to the session will have the amount of time remaining allotted for the session. Clients may request additional time which may be granted on case-by-case basis pending pre-existing conflicts, location availability, weather, and lighting. Quality of images cannot be guaranteed nor is the photographer liable to provide images taken should sessions extend beyond Blue Hour.
What if inclement weather occurs?
I try to keep open lines of communication starting about one week prior to your session should there be any concern of inclement weather. Should inclement weather be anticipated within the week of your session that may interfere with your session we can either go ahead and reschedule or proceed with our planned session. I will also touch base the day of should weather potentially interfere with our schedule session. Please keep in mind that most sessions will have varying positional changes that may include sitting on the ground. We can discuss accommodations should saturation of the ground potentially impact poses. I will make reasonable effort to coordinate and accommodate a new date/time for your session as soon as reasonably possible.
Do you provide RAW images?
No. RAW images will not be provided to download for any reason. This is for several reasons. Unedited images can be altered, shared, or misused without my permission. I consider RAW images to be considered my intellectual property. Extensive time is poured into editing each session. It is reflective of the photographer's skill and represents their unique brand. By selecting your me as your photographer, you are agreeing to receive final images consistent with edited images displayed on my website or social media pages.
What is your turn-around time?
Turn around time can vary considering my schedule and time of year. I begin working on your gallery immediately after our session ends, however, I also work full time in healthcare. Max turn-around time for both proof and final gallery delivery is 4 weeks, each.
When your proofs are ready for review, you will receive a link to access your gallery. Galleries will be open for proof-selection for 14 days (unless additional time has been requested or previous agreements have been made). For individuals who have requested to purchase additional images, timeline begins once the invoice for additional images has been paid in full.
What if I miss the proof-selection period?
If you have not communicated final selections at the end of the selection period, I will attempt to make contact. If no communication has been received 48 hours after contact has been attempted, I will select and proceed to edit the number of images allotted for the package purchased.
Are additional images available for purchase?
Yes! Additional images can be purchased at any time prior to, during editing, or after final gallery delivery. Please reach out for details regarding bundled packages.
How can I preserve the quality of my images?
Where images are downloaded onto, uploaded from, and where images are printed can affect quality and color of your finalized images. For best quality, I recommend downloading your images on a desktop.
Screen-shoots, additional cropping, or any other modifications can affect quality. Please ensure when uploading to print you are selecting the original images. Uploading images from a mobile device to a lab can also affect quality. To ensure quality is maintained, I recommend uploading the original images from a desktop to a professional lab’s website.
Printing at places with quick turn around time—such as Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, etc.—have lower quality because they are not professional labs. To ensure best results, images should be downloaded and uploaded on a desktop and then using sites like Mpix.
Do you participate in charitable work?
Yes! I partner with and donate my time to several hospitals. Charitable sessions are offered for parents of children admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and for those enduring infant and child loss regardless of age. If you are interested in this service but are not sure of the next steps, feel free to reach out for guidance or discuss hiring an external photographer with your medical team.
